A WAY TO A MAN’S HEART IS……

 food  football!

ok, ok and good food, love, laughter and an ability to communicate.

I think men who are sports fans,  love women who can talk sports. More and more women are watching football. In fact, according to TV by the Numbers (55% ) Over half of US Women say they watch NFL Football.  Accordingly, the number of men that love ladies that can talk and understand sports are growing also.

There is just something about American NFL Football.

Look at the advantages of a woman fan…You get to look at some nice looking tooshes, and stomach the not so nice ones.

Your man can’t say “Hey I’m going to the local pub to watch the game.” He better be inviting me on that date!

Your man during a game is not going to say “Get me a beer.” Unless it is a commercial.

You have plenty of date nites…Sunday Night Football, Monday Night Football, Thursday Night Football ect.

If you’re really knowledgable, your husband won’t make that bet without first confiding in you.

The list goes on.

NFL Football is good for a relationship. Many men today find it sexy and appealing when a woman can dote on football or other sports. Men like ladies that are knowledgable. Becoming witty with your football knowledge can be impressive on your guy. Your conversations will grow and your love life will too. So then, it is true, the way to a mans’ heart is….well, what I said above.

If your sports knowledge is not too entertaining at the moment, there is still hope for you. Here are a few quick references to get you started.

I love Twitter Descriptions. They can say so much in fewer than 160 characters.

A small message with a big meaning. Not everyone has a great Twitter Description. I probably need to work a little harder on my own Twitter De-Love as I like to call it. Short for Twitter Description Love.

Take Michael Strahan‘s Twitter Description as of today for example:

“If you have a life you don’t have time to hate!!”

Now that says a lot in very few words. Those words lead to some truth.

Where do people find time to hate. I am so busy trying to show my family some love, I am just way too busy to hate.

It takes time to attack people, I realize that everyone is going to have their own opinions, but as a the well known  Keyshawn Johnson would say “c’mon man!”

Get a Life You Haters!

Did My Husband Marry Me Because I like Football?

Did my husband marry me because I like football? In our circle of friends, I am often teasing that my husband only married me because of my love for football. To be truthful it probably played a huge role in our love for one another. Relationships grow stronger when you have things in common. Holding a conversation in any subject is important, and in my man’s world being able to talk football with his girl, is just an added bonus to his marriage.

I became interested in football at a young age and my knowledge of the game grew over time. When first dating, my ability to talk football impressed him. Although fans of different teams (thankfully in the same conference) we had something in common. Commonality in areas such as…morals, life dreams, family values, and overall interests are important aspects in any marriage. One of our biggest common connections just happens to be football.

Our love and passion for football continually brings us closer together, creating conversation and yes excitement. When a football game is on in our house their is exciting tension in the air. Our teams luckily only play one another every so often and at that time we might watch a game from seperate rooms. This, just because we have such passion for the game and our teams, that we might say something that could hurt.

Every couple should have common things they are passionate about together. This only helps to build a stronger marriage. Holding a conversation with my husband about football is exciting to me. It continues to bring us closer together through conversation. We text or call one another when we hear major nfl news that we find important or interesting. We watch games together and celebrate one anothers team wins. We console one another on losses. It is always date night on Sunday night football, Monday night football, Thurday Night Football and of course, the SuperBowl.

My husband and I have other harmonies, but if you ask me did my husband marry me because I like football, my answer would have to be yes. Yes he did, and for that I am Blessed!

Houston Texans Suprise Widow Of Fallen Marine

I always love stories about communities and organizations giving back.

This one is really special, considering my husband was in the Marines for almost ten years.

Scott Wood a Marine passed away due to injuries he received during combat in Iraq.  His wife Sara Wood and 5 year old son were invited to a halftime ceremony.

The Houston Texans surprised the fallen Marines widow and son with a custom built home. The home was provided by an organization called Operation Finally Home.

Operation Finally Home provides houses to wounded, disabled veterans or the widowed and their families and  all homes are mortgage free.

The house is located in the suburbs of Houston.

This charity has built 32 homes in 32 different states.

This is why I love our country…it is the greatest!

All Smiles For Tony Romo

It was all smiles from Tony Romo in the last few huddles on Saturday night. Recently married in May, a baby on the way, and a win. Tony Romo has to be feeling good about life. He led his Cowboys team to a victory  in a month, that in past has been a frigid one for Tony. The Cowboys now have an 8 and 6 record and control their own destiny to win the NFC East. He had 23 completions with 30 attempts against Tampa Bay. Romo threw for 249 yards with an average of 8.3 yards.

Turkey Sliders With Fresh Herbs- Great Football Day Recipe

Add some Turkey sliders to your football recipe list. I like to serve my sliders with a bowl of chip and dip. If you’re looking to please the younger crowd too, this recipe does it. Using the Turkey instead of Beef is a better choice.
Also, add some vegetables with the plate for the dip.

I love Direct TV Sunday Ticket

No, I am not writing this to promote Direct TV, earn money from affiliate links or to be paid for blogging this. I honestly love my Sunday ticket. My husband and I love our football. Careers have taken us out of our home town areas and into an area that doesn’t  have an NFL Team. All of the local channels show the team games in the next state over. With that being said, we both have teams that remain in our home-state hearts. Direct TV allows us the opportunity to watch our home state teams play.
